You know what? This is my first blog!

Slowly but surely, I'm being dragged into the twenty-first century and all it has to offer, technologically.

When I got my first computer back in the early '90's, I felt like "the shit" because I could do things no one else knew how to do. I became a Word guru and fairly proficient with Windows later in the decade. Then when the internet popped up, I felt like a whiz!

But then I kind of stagnated. I learned what I needed to learn and was satisfied with that. I didn't care about Twitter because I didn't need to let the world know what I was thinking in so many characters or less. I'm not a huge picture taker, so Instagram didn't interest me. I admit I am on Facebook more than I need to be, but hey, who doesn't need to share the occasional meme?

But you know what? These can be really good tools for marketing and networking, especially when you're a budding new author about to launch your very first novel. I need to get over my fear and confusion and go for it. Stop being a crochety grump already, I tell myself, and learn how to use these things to your advantage.

You know what? I think I'm on my way!
